An institution in Scandinavian retail celebrates 150 years. Magasin du Nord, or the Danish Bon Marche, asked us to create their anniversary campaign. The campaign is called “Always Magical” and kicks off a year of surprises, magic and glamour.
IKEA launches global equality campaign on International Women’s Day
With 49% women in leading positions, IKEA wanted to communicate the quality of having a company culture where equality is at the core of the company values. We helped develop the communication around International Women’s Day and bring the belief and proof point, not known to many, on the agenda.
Just Eat celebrates the chefs in new campaign
After earning more than 90% of the market share in Denmark, Just Eat were ready to talk about something else than service and delivery on-time. We have helped Just Eat put a face on their service, by celebrating the chefs and all the passion they put into the dishes on their menus.
Barkas hires new Managing Director
We are happy to welcome Steven Müller as our new Managing Director. Steven has many years of experience in branding, innovation and product development, particularly within the FMCG industry. Steven has recently worked as Account Director at CO/PLUS, working primarily with large international accounts. Before this, Steven worked many years abroad for Arla Foods, developing brands in the US, China and Southeast Asia. Welcome aboard Steven!
The Royal Theatre launches their first podcast together with Audi
Together with the Royal Theater and Audi we have developed the first podcast series the theater has ever released. The project is the first in a strategic approach of exploring how commercial and cultural interest can meet and create high quality content that adds value for the the Royal Theater audience.
Barkas moves to Refshaleøen
After a few years in downtown Copenhagen, Barkas now moves to “The Island”. The office is placed in one of the old B&W buildings, newly renovated by Architect Dorte Mandrup. We will sitting at first floor overseeing the Royal Yacht Dannebrog, Mærsk Headquarters, Baby Baby Bar and The Marble Church.
“Make room for life” on the cover of the IKEA Catalogue 2017
Barkas have been part of shaping the strategy for this years IKEA communication and product collection. “Make room for life” started as a creative exploration looking into how the living room could look in the future. The exploration sparked a change within IKEA to design for “what life people want to live” rather than “what sofa do people want”.
Phlake plays Orange at Roskilde Festival
Phlake opened this years Roskilde Festival. Barkas was part of directing the visuals and concept for the live performance.
